    Sleeper rebuild

Today I ordered carb rebuild kits, new fuel lines, fuel filter, new reeds, and motor mounts. Over the holiday I decided to paint a few things. I have the motor in a crate and ready to ship back to Group K next week hopefully. I am just waiting on the gasket for the top section of the head. Once I install that gasket the motor will be shipping out. I will be doing the carbs, reeds, fuel lines, and cleaning out 17 year old fuel tank while the motor is at Group K. Here are a few pics.

Hey sleeper, that is looking great. I got antsy ... and removed my cylinders and sent them to Tim Judge for porting, I had Rich @ WFO send me a new VF-3 reed set, and West Coast power sports sent me power plenum filter, and also got a set of R&D trim tabs. Also the Blue Tube FF exhaust. All these parts are just sitting in my garage & it is only 20* in there. So my winter project is set. But dam it is cold out. LOL. Hey did you see where there is going to be a sanctioned CC race held in Texas this 2015. It will be called the Liberity Cup, sponsored by Prowatercross tour. On Lake Lewisville, just a few miles north of Dallas. the dates are July 17-19. I plan to make the trip down. My son who olives in Austin plans to drive up and also compete. Just thought I might spark some interest.

I may entertain the idea of competing in the hydrodrags again, but unless they have a smooth cove somewhere on Lewisville, I am out on that location. Closed course racing would be fun, but my GP is not set up for that and I am not changing my set up. If you looked at my ride plate and intake grate area, you would understand why. Things are practically welded in place with magnum steel putty. Good luck to you and keep that GPR 2-stroke alive.

Here are a few pictures of some paint work I did over the holidays. In this case, it looks better in the pictures than it does in person.

I should be installing the new motor in the next week or two. It is now bored out 1.5 mm, which is the largest you can go on the stock sleeves. I was already bored out 1mm, (I thought it was only .5mm over before).

I got the motor back in the hull yesterday, and hooked up the starter wiring. I still need to hook up the water lines and fuel lines and get the motor aligned and bolted down.
