Polaris genesis wear ring. Easy way to change?

Hello everyone i started this thread because i havent seen nothing like this yet. My wear ring has little rust bumps on top left and bottom right. The engine locks up if u don't sand the bumps alittle so i did. And after a week of siting with out starting the ski it happnes again. And same thing sand down the bump. But if u ride the ski 2 days a week you get no problems. ? Should i change the ring i have a new one. And how would you stat as there is corrosion under the wearing. I try to slide it out like on youtube but it is not that easy, Without undoing the hole thing with the silicone and 4 big bolts.

The whole base has to come off the hull. The liner in it does not come out. The whole piece gets replaced.

Wow the hole thing ?!!! Some say if u get lucky it slide out . Use a cut off wheel to take some stress out so it can be hammered out. Yah the impeler is little grounded down but not to bad

The liner on a Polaris does not come out. It would have to be bored out in a machine shop.

A little ground down on the impeller is a big performance loss. The loss of even a few thousandths on the outside diameter of the impeller will degrade performance significantly. I usually tell people that the best mod they can perform on their ski is to make sure the jet pump is in perfect condition.

Those pump liners are pretty expensive now that polaris discontinued them. I found a guy that sells just the ring for an old kawasaki i used to have but that was years ago and he didn't have them for polaris.

You can use a pump base from a 94 or 95 SL 750. They have the steel liner in them.
