2006 RXP pump shoe slight bulge?

I noticed a slight bulge in the center of my pump intake right behind the grate,
Erik at Speedfreeks said this is quite common and causes some cavitation,
He advised me to take a heat gun and use big channel lock pliers and squeeze it back down to flush or a little more,
    has anyone else done this?
    input and suggestions??

Erik said after squeezing it back flush to put some 3m-5200 on the intake grate to make sure all the possible water intrusion areas are sealed,

oh god no. You can bond a tank to a wall with that shit. Use "the right stuff". At least you can remove that with some effort.

I use a torch and cresent wrench. The middle bolt touches off on the center rib in the plate and distorts it as you see. This is a Seadoo engineering screw up. The fix is to straighten out the lip of the plate and to eliminate the interference-- less bolt protrusion and or removing some of the rib for clearance.

So the center bolt on the intake grate is pushing the plastic up from the bottom?
do I shorten the center bolt? what rib are you talking about?
can I just remove the center bolt?

    explain,
The intake grate needs to be removed and you will see the rib that the center screw is contacting.
