780 CDI Mod
I found some old notes and it seems like someone told me that cutting the yellow loop wire in the 780 cdi gets rid of the rev limiter. Can anyone verify this or what the yellow wire is for? Might be some neat info I had totally forgotten about?

I know the 785's have a yellow wire looped that can be cut. I have a cdi out of a 95 780 and it dose not have the yellow wire.

I have have never seen better than 100 RPM's with cutting the wire.

Ok so my info was partially right. My 96 SLX780 cdi has the yellow wire looping. Forgot to mention that it has a black stripe. Well 100rpm is better than nothing. I guess there is something else in the circuitry to still have a rev limiter, just 100rpm higher with the yellow/blk loop cut?

Black and yellow is correct, that's exactly how its always worked for me.
