    2011 Sea Doo RXT-X (115 hours) or 2011 Kawasaki Ultra 300x (17 hours)

    Hey guys....I wanted to see what your thoughts are for a 2011 RXT-X with 115 hours and has a transferable warranty until 2016. I also found a 2011 Ultra 300x with only 17 hours and no warranty. Both are asking $8500 and I think I can get either one for under $8k. I owned a 2009 FZS and sold it a couple years ago. I loved it, but it seemed a little nimble for my liking.

    I am buying a ski to pull my kids and others on wakeboards, skis, etc. However, I want a fast ski for when it's just me. For you Sea Doo owners, is the hull fairly stable? I have never been on a Sea Doo and as I stated, my FZS was fairly unstable feeling. From everything I read, the Ultra 300X is a monster and may foot the bill, but I have always wanted a Sea Doo and I would love being able to add on the ski pylon. Would you guys worry at all about the 115 hours vs. a 17 hour Ultra 300x? Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

    The FZS is definitely a nimble ski but that's one of the things it was built for. If you want solid reliability, stability and speed, then look at the FX SHO or SVHO. My brother in law has the Ultra and hates it due to the SC maintenance and "gas in the oil" problem. Yamaha has neither. I've owned a 4TEC and wont comment.

    The TX is a great platform, stable dry ride, easy to modify, lots of room to work on, very easy to pull skiers and tubes. If you desire to ride the ocean surf then consider the green beast.

    Lots of options for the TX performance wise. Look at my signature for ideas.

    Ultra 300 with Gas in oil and superchargther problems. Hmm, you must be thinking of the 250X. What does that have to do with THIS thread??

    My 300 has been trouble free for 101 hrs. I say I'd rather be riding than have my ski in the shop having warranty work done.like Benjahw said, the GIO problem is more of a 250 problem. I haven't heard of many 300's with that. And all you have to do as far as sc maintenance is fog it and check the belt every now and then.
    The 300 is very stable at speed. It is a blast riding alone and is great for towing.

    11 T-X is a bad ass machine but the difference in hours is pretty staggering for the same price. Verify maintenance before purchasing

    Food for thought. The Kawasaki burns about 17 gallons to the SeaDoo's 10 gallons for the same riding.
