    C-clip for carbon ring etc.

Hi, does the C-clip involved with the driveshaft, carbon seal removal etc require a special tool? Does it slip out and in by hand? Thanks

It goes out by hand/screwdriver. There is tool for holding the hat back but it is not a must. I never used one

These two tools together will make the job much simpler and stress free:

Trying to accomplish this job without the proper tools can be very frustrating!

Going to replace (Upgrade) everything associated from the carbon seal to the impeller, wear ring. What's the PTO bearing (Seal) life span like (Very Reliable)? A preventative maintenance thing. Thanks for the replies, greatly appreciated!

As long as it isn't leaking and doesn't come out with the driveshaft you should be fine. It likes to corrode to the driveshaft and once you pull it out of the rubber coupler, it will leak 90% of the time.
