First mods on 300x?
Hey guys.....I Just purchased a 2011 Ultra 300x with 17 hours on it and wanted to see what the best mods are. I know I need the bypass module. I looked around a little on greenhulk and saw some posts about ride plates but no sure what's best. Also, I know some people are doing the reflash on ECU. I previously has a FZS and the reflash was amazing. Just looking for easy mods that I can do. Also, I would assume that I need a new prop if I do the reflash. Thanks for any input.

How much $ are you looking at spending? That will also determine what mods to do.

I'm hoping to keep it under $2000.
Also, I saw something on here about a plate recall?? What's that about?
with my FZS, I had to immediately replace the intake grate for safety reasons.

Ride plate and sponsons are all going to be personal preference and how you like to ride. Most like the r&d but it all depends.
if you havent already put the "newer" style catch can on it you should first thing. The old style is round shape, the new is more triangular. If you have the old style clean the intercooler and install the new catch can at the same time.

For short runs racing your buddies in some good ole grudge racing..
1) ECU R3 reflash (acceleration )
2)SCOM( +4-5 mph)
3)R&D intake grate(best pump loader and good hook up)
4) R&D ride plate or a Riva 250/260 rideplate (get on plane quicker less hull drag)
5)Solas 14/21 (great torque thru rpm range)
6)pump shoe seal kit or just fill with silicone(0 cavitation)

As always, the search button is your friend.... or the stickies at the top of the various forums....
Here's my project thread which has most of the basics in it: http://www.greenhulk.net/forums/showthread.php?t=217063

Congrats on the ski!
R&D SCOM, Solas 14/21 prop, Ride plate. R&D grate will help speed at the cost of hookup). You could also get a reflash. I have heard mixed reviews about each brand.
About the ride plate... A RIVA plate is best for flat water speed but not so good for handling, R&D and Farthing are both great all-round plates from what I have heard but they won't give you quite the flat water speed a riva plate would.
You could do some free mods as well, remove the recall plate right in front of the hood latch, tighten or block off the BOV, trim or remove the rear tubes.

For that sort of money you will be able to do what I have done to mine:
R&D- Ride Plate, Grate, BOV Block Off, Pump Cone, Pump Wedge, Air Filter Kit (But don't put the one in above the Supercharger Belt)
Stock- 2013 Catch Can
You will be very happy. Don't expect the performance of your FZS eg 80mph if that had more than just a few bolt ons but these are great skis.
Some people have had issues with some of the re-flashes out there for the Kawa's. I've heard the K-Speed reflash is the way to go.
