    Salt Water Flush Time?

Those of you running 4-tecs, how long should i flush for after running in salt water? I will be running in saltwater 100% of the time, but i will lube after every use. I am going with a 4-tec because of the closed cooling

I believe the manual says to flush for 15 seconds

    Thanks

i flush for at least two minutes with an occational rev of the throttle even if i rode in freshwater and since you are in salt water 100% of the time you might want to flush with SALTAWAY

i run in salt most of the time, and over the years of running 4 tecs even when i flushed and powerwashed the engine and lubed the engine and electrics, under that plastic cam cover which is hideing the majority of the cam cover, it always oxidiesd under there, so i pull that plastic off and throw it with the unopened vidio's that came with the ski's, leave that off till you sell it, hope that helps

Ya know, I've been doing the 2-3 minute thing too, but recently I re-read the manual and it says to flush for only 10-15 seconds?!?....

not that I'm gonna do that. not nearly enough water getting through in that amount of time. I'm gonna stick with the 2-3 minute ordeal. However, I salt away for 20 seconds at the end.

you don't have to run it that long you'll be flushed in 20 secs max, if you keep doing that 2 mins job you'll were your drive shaft boot seal
