Removing 2010 RXTX through hull fitting

I need to remove the plastic threaded through hull fitting on my 10 TX as i cracked it whilst doing the engine alignment procedure. I know a few people have had this problem before and i was hoping someone could describe to me the easiest away to remove and fit the new one.

I have the work shop manual and a heat gun ready to melt the glue, but was hoping to hear from others before i made a mess of it...just in case there is an easy way i dont know about.

    Cheers

    Pete

My heat gun wasn't melting/loosening that glue from the factory so I went at it with a dremel. Used a router bit and some grinding wheels. Just be careful to not dig into the gelcoat if you go that route. It was a little messy but I had it out pretty quickly. GL

Yep I feel your pain, been there done that hanging upside down for hours trying to chip away at that POS plastic that is glued down with NASA adhesive!

PATIENCE my friend. The heat gun trick did NOT work for me. I also used a Dremel and sliced it in 1/8" pie shaped pieces, making sure not to cut too deep into the other thru hull part that is also plastic! Broke off each pie section carefully.

BRP should have made these two parts aluminum, but went cheap ..............

Thasks boys... That saves me wasting time with a heat gun.

Slasher I'm not sure I'm going to have it done before the end of summer...the spare time is just not there....

OK, i finally managed to get the broken through hull off with the dremel i just bought...awesome tool. What were you boys using to seal the new plastic back on? Silicone? or did you buy the fancy glue thats spoken off in the seadoo workshop manual??
