    Sea-Doo iBR Removal and Installation (on a GTR 215)

    This complete instructional video shows how to remove and replace the iBR gate assembly on a Sea-Doo. Performed on a 2012 Sea-Doo GTR 215, it also includes replacement of the 4 friction sleeves (required at 100 hr interval).

    A video for how to replace everything associated with the carbon ring would be an asset to the forum. Maybe for your consideration, seeing the great quality of how to do videos. Thanks

    Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, Chris replaced the carbon ring on his old RXP 215 a while back, before I started filming these things, and I don't expect to replace the ring on my GTR for a while (I hope). The videos we're currently working on (and probably will post in the following order) are:
    1. Winterizing (15 steps)
    2. Supercharger rebuild
    3. Pump wear ring replacement
    4. External intercooler addition
    5. iTC and iBR lever lubrication
    If I do need to replace the carbon ring, I'll create a video of it. The most important part of the job is getting hold of a spreader tool to expose the C-clip and support ring.

    You are probably already aware but my carbon ring fell apart at 77 hrs ... replaced under warranty.... search my threads for more info.

    Wow, I've never heard of that before. I agree with the dealer that it was "probably just one of those things." There is always the possibility of incorporating manufacturing defects and although they're usually good at finding these things, it does happen. If it is an engine misalignment, as they didn't fix it, you'll probably be replacing the carbon ring at another 73 hrs. Keep us posted!
