    Fuel filters

Given the pick up filters are a crap job to change out can anyone see why I can't remove them and place a inline filter in ? Wouldn't imagine small particles would hurt the pump ?

    Shouldnt hurt the pump.

But if you somehow got a large peice of crud lodged in your pump you would lean out and pop pretty quick

Stainless debris screener (mesh) may be the go pump side
Then inline filter to keep the injectors happy

Id feel safe enough to give that a go then.

Id go as fine a mesh as i could. Form a large screen over the bottom of the pump (over the rectangle filter hole not in it) so i have as large a filter area as possible - the whole rectangle would be the intake as opposed to the hole in the rectangle and thus your mesh screen would have a larger usable area

Also if its not in the rectangle the fuel wash over the mesh should clean it better whenever you stop running - the mesh in the rectangle means less fuel flows past it when it rocks meaning any sludge that sticks would stay stuck due to it being in a sheltered rectangle

If your going to go as far as removing the old filter, why not just replace them with new ones and be done with it instead of cutting, clamping and re-doing fuel lines for a in-line filter???A in-line can be done BUT if you do go with an in-line filter, make sure its one for fuel injection and not carburated motors....Ive seen a few skis in my area were a person has installed carburated filters on skis instead of fuel injected ones...

Well if hes considering doing this because changing the stock one is a pain in the ass he is obviously changing his filter more often than average joe (who probably doesnt even kow its there lol)

An inline one would be extremely easy to check and change if you were so inclined to do so on a regular basis

Pump assembly is all out to fit a new pump and new lines are going in anyway.
