Is twin impeller a good option for yamaha FZS - for more low end?

    Hi!
Who has any experience with twin impellers - is there any gain for the price? What intake grate will work better with it? should i go for twin impellers or spend the money for other bolt on mods?

you will need quite an increase in power to turn a twin prop. it will eliminate cavitation but getting the right pitch depending on what modifications you have is tricky.

Finding the correct pitch is only part of the bigger picture. Pitching usually happens once you know your RPM's.

you wil struggle to turn a twin prop with a stock ski. a tbm set up or a lucky 13 cone would be better.

If you 100% stock Doing the r&d intake grate is a must for safety & will help with hook up. If you add the pump seal kit will help reduce cavitation as well. Then it's time for a ribbon delete & some MODS.

Go for a Tiny tach to realy know your rpm's, then you can pitch your stock prop as you progress with things. Or even get a single Skat prop for a better holeshot.

Thank's for advices - actually will add some bolt on parts that i have already: R&D Surge Protector(blow off valve), R&D power plenum with free flow intake, R&D free flow exhaust kit. What else bolt on parts will help me REW more rpm so i can change impeller for more low end - using the ski on the lake mostly.
TBM pump stufer - is it working well with stock impeller?

R3 reflash is a great bang for your buck, and will allow you to pitch for more rpm's & boost.

All great points but I would spring for the few extra bucks and get a pet tack.
It has been my experience that the main drive of the double controls the rpm. If the main is the same pitch as the single it will probly pull the same rpm.

    Thats not really true Razzie.
I'm running a twin that I bought from Kerry a couple of years ago. My ski is pretty much stock except for the ribbon delete, cheap air and
Tommy's F/F exhaust. My buddy has a bone stock '09 that I walk away from on top end but in the hole shot, I KILL him.

As said earlier, a stock ski can turn a twin if it is tuned right.

All I know is, I love mine.
