Changing oil filter (help)
Hi, I am going to change the oil filter on my doo though wonder if there is anything special I should know before doing it. Like: Should I pinch the lines? or pre fill the filter so it doesn't start up dry...???

I pinch the hoses before and after the filter. Remove old filter. Place inlet line on filter loosen the clamp to let filter fill up then quickly put on outlet hose and remove clamps. It's a little messy but keeps from getting lots of air in the lines. It's a good idea to put a couple shop rags under the area to catch the oil, makes clean up a little easier.

If its a two stroke I would make sure you bleed out the air in the line. There is a bleed screw on the oil pump.Refer to you service manual

You can do it without bleeding. Do as WM says above, try to hold it all vertical so any little air bubbles go up into the oil tank. Worst case, premix some oil in gas tank and ride it out...

Just crank the ski after you get it changed and move the oil pump lever by hand to all the way open for a few seconds it will bleed the line of all the air.
Do Not rev the motor, just move the oil pump lever.

Re oil filter
Thanks everyone who posted some help here for me. Good thing I asked before doing it. (Sometimes the simplest things aren't as simple as they may seem.)
