Thread: Shaft problem

Hi guys, Somehow the rear bearing on the impeller duct shattered and the washer behind the nut has split.
I have replaced the bearing but my problem is that when I went to take out the duct it wouldn't come out.
So I had to take the nut off and pull out the duct off the shaft. My problem is that the shaft and prop won't
come out it seems that it's jammed. What is another way I can out the shaft as I know it should come out
with the duct.

I think you are better off leaving the pump on the shaft to get the shaft out
but have never had the shaft jamb that bad , so have no idea what your next step should be.
but you might be able to set up a slide hammer on the shaft

I use a big slide hammer puller with a j hook adapter. Put pump duct back tighten the drive shaft nut back, make a bracket that goes across duct bolt holes and put bolts and nuts to hold the bracket drill a hole in center of bracket and hook j hook adapter in the center with a slide hammer should come out.
