Even though I'm very close to it, I've never done it.

However, are you sure you mean "Nassau" Island?

Generally speaking, you leave Haulover (not Ft. Laud) and its about 52 miles East to Bimini where you need to check & pay into customs (Alice Town). But from there its another 120 miles East (S/E) to Nassau!!

Best time for water conditions is from Spring through May. Certainly not in Jan/Feb!

Yes, goal is to get to Nassau Bahamas....
    Figured 50 miles to bimini..
    75 more to chub cay
    60 more to Nassau...

Its rough this time of year you think?

I send a PM to the above members, hoping for a reply back!

I have a condo in Lauderdale for a bit, and going to tow down a pair of 2012 SHO's if anyone wants to hook up and ride, Would love to be shown around!

    I didn't get any PMs.

52 Miles to Bimini (from Haulover)
    92 Miles Bimini - Chub
    42 Miles Chub - Nassau.
43 Miles Nassau - Northern end of Exuma

Why do you want to go to Nassau? Nassau Sucks... The only reason to go past Bimini is if you go all the way to the Exumas. I've done this twice by Ski and have only used Nassau as a fuel stop. Nassau is dirty and touristy... Go by Cruise Ship if your end destination is Nassau... would be way cheaper.

I Have to agree Nassau is not a good final destination on a ski. If you go that far finish the trip to the Exumas. I have a group of boaters and jet skiers talking about the trip to the Exumas and Nassau was discussed as an overnight stop and I don't think I would even want the skis tied up for one night there I would be nervous that they would be there in the morning. This place has a few nice spots but overall it is not all that great of an area

Trust me, you don't want to be in Nassau at night.....we were there back in September on a cruise and stayed until midnight, it gets real scary once the sun goes down!! We have friend's that moved there and the stories they told us will make you cringe!!

Bimini is a great trip, next time I go I would like to head over to Freeport in Grand Bahamas

Nassau is a cruise ship port/tourist trap. There is more offered on New Providence in terms of hotels, restaurants etc. than the out-islands, but I wouldn't recommend it as destination. Bimini and Cat Cay are cool stopping points, once you spend a few days there you have seen everything on the islands.

Overall, we had a lot of fun on our ski trip in the Bahamas last summer. This is the 4th year in a row to take skis to the Bahamas for some in our group. It's been a few years since I last spent time in the Exumas. I'd like to make a run down there this summer and plan stops on islands I haven't been to yet.
