Hi there awesome forum here. Just got a quick question do all skis leak ? I've had 3 and all have leaked water in someway or another. Is this just the way it is or are they supposed to be water tight ?? thanks for any replys.

Well not water tight but all depends how much water you get in the hull.
Water can come in under the seat or the front hatch come to think about it there are small holes everywhere.
When I rolled my ski it half filled with water, a big push to get a bilge pump after that.

Cheers for reply. I usually end up with 2 to 3 inches of water in my hull. Doesn't matter if I'm out wave jumping or in the river pulling the tube. I'm looking at a new ski but not sure where to start. Was hoping to get one that doesn't leak.

I usually end up with a bit of water, but my 2011 SeaDoo has 2 "bailers" that will suction out the water near the aft while the engine is running, so it's difficult to tell if there's water entering and just being sent back out through the pump.
For sure, when just sitting/parked in the water, no water enters the hull.
On my to do list is to get a bilge pump installed, as I understand the bailers aren't capable of handling large amounts of water in an emergency.

Thanks for the reply. My 03 RX had 2 bailers installed and it kept out a lot water but not all. My 08 wake had water leaking out the shaft . sea doo said it was a bad design. My 11 rxp leaked the worst. I guess I'll just get a bilge pump in what ever I get next.
