    Evidently the company that bought Jacobs tossed out the inventory by accident or some story like that and doesn't want to make them. Pretty niche item but they do work...or did. Occasionally you'll see on ebay.

    Kinda cool unit. Voltage booster combined with precision voltage regulated output.

    Probably did make a difference with basic and early generation electronic ignition systems. Stable voltage output at near the maximum tolerable level would indeed spice up a lot of early days automotive electrical gear.
