    under the waterline sealant??

Guys, what is the best product to use for under the waterline sealant... for example sealing the intake grate and rideplate?

I looked at Permatex "the right stuff" 25224 gasket maker but that stuff is black and I am not sure if I can use that under the waterline.

    Any feedback will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Curtis

Right stuff is perfect. for permanent applications, 3m 5200 but I would not recommend that for grates and plates unless you never want them to come off again.

I just bought a can of "The right stuff" for my new ride plate that will be going on this weekend.
    Testing will follow.

I want to be sure I am on the right page.... "The Right Stuff" is black right? I mean the stuff that comes out of the can will be black in color... not clear, right?

need to make sure I ordered up the right things to get the job done and have it be capabable of being used BENEATH THE WATERLINE.

    Thanks guys.

Thanks. Order placed. Hope this "stuff" is as good as everyone says it is.

How hard is this "stuff" to work with? Is it messy and how easy is cleanup if you use too much?

Why use anything other than the silicone that the factory uses. I have fish aquariums that use silicone to seal the glass panels that are well over 25 years old. The silicone lasts indefinitely under water plus it is easy to apply neatly using a finger wet with spit.
