I have bought my 2012 RXP-X 260 about 6 months ago. It currently has a couple of Mods: Riva Intercooler, Riva GPS speed derestricter, R&D intake grate, and Riva Exhaust.
I have recently developed an issue of the ski running rough. It feels like its dropping a cylinder every now and again. It wont reach the usual top speed of 115km/h, and whenever im cruising around or trying to give it some, it surges and fluctuates up and down 500rpm.
I have replaced the spark plugs thinking that might be an issue. I have also run a injector cleaner with a full tank of gas as well. But still the issue remains.
I have thought it might be a coil pack but a friend tells me i might have a hole in my intercooler. That doesnt make sense to me.
I wanted to see if anyone else has come accross this issue and can point me in the right direction.
Thanks for your help.

I wouldn't be surprised if your Riva intercooler is blown! They don't have a great track record.

Remove the air intake tube from the throttle body and connect cooling water to the flushing port on the transom of the boat. Rev the engine (no more than 4,000 RPM) and see if a "significant" amount of water is being discharged from the tube. Some water is normal but if it appears excessive you have an intercooler leak. I made a test fixture to test my cooler with air pressure. It should hold 10 psi for 10 minutes, according to the factory service manual.

Why is it normal for some water to be going into the throttle body?
