JMO everything BUT the purple pipe, its been proven that he factory 951 pipe works the best. i bought one new in 98 for my GSX LTD and i could never get satisfied with it....

reading the posts as i am in the process of rebuilding my xp ltd...
what are the benefits of the above mods? vs money? Obviously speed and traction/hookup - but how much does it really add over stock?
i looked up the 12 vein pump and that is a couple thousand... probably more than the ski in question.

Do you want a dependable ski that you can ride any way you want and not have to touch the motor, or do you want a ski that's quite a bit faster than stock, but you have to do a little tuning, and more maintenance? You can do a re-jet with flame arrestors, and sponsons, and have a reliable well handling ski. Or you can do a pipe, carbs ignition, and higher compression, and have faster more fun ski to ride, but you will have to do a little more maintenance, and some tuning to get it reliable.

Don't get me wrong, you can have a piped ski that is reliable. But it takes some work and some trial and error to get it there. And, a lot of the parts are getting hard to find. You can't call Hot products and order a coffmans pipe anymore.

All depends on how you want to ride it, how much you want to spend, and how much work you want to put into it.

Stock ride plate and intake grate works well on the XPL. I tried a Worx grate and R&D plate and didn't like them. The grate felt like it made it hook up a little better in rough, but I lost some speed. The ride plate made it ride too high, and I didn't like the way it turned compared to stock. Go with some sponsons. They will make it carve a lot better than stock.
