rust in bore: resleeve or nikasil?

    Hello,

I have corrosion in my engine from taking in salt water. It has pitted the bores. What are the options and best remedy to fix this? whilst doing the rebuild I will use forged rods and pistons and aim to run 16 to 20psi

    2009 fx sho

    Thanks

depends if you want to keep standard bore or go a bigger bore if the Pitts are deep and can not be bored and honed past them and your doing internals anyways I'd have crankcase sleeved. the bores will be stronger under the increased boost

You can bore a half millimeter out no problem. Why anyone would sleeve a crankcase is beyond me lol

I agree with you Kerry. Putting a sleeve in does not make it stronger. Hell I am running stock bore with 18# wheel with no problem.
