    X4 Spark

Does anyone see any obvious obstacles/downfalls to trying to install the 900 ACE motor into an X4 hull? I'm thinking there should be enough room and nothing too custom should be required aside from possibly engine mounts. Your thoughts please.

    Not enough power to weight.

How much more does the ACE weigh than a 2-stroke 787 or 951? Maybe a turbocharger will squeeze in there.

    A 787 is 110 hp and a 951 is 130 or 135 I beleive. So swapping in a 900 ace won't make sense unless it's turbo charged.

Yes but less revs are required...

You have to remember what 2 smokes rev to to calculate that HP/KW... As HP is calculated similar to revs x torque.

So if you make more torque using less revs, you create less peak HP.

There is more than enough torque to get you going and do all the slow speed stuff you want, but if you want top end you will need it charged.

It's the hull weight. The x4 is 100" and 434 lbs and fiberglass. The Spark is 110" and 405lbs and recycled milk jugs.
-the 787 with pipe does not weigh that much. I'd guess ~ 100#.

I'd love to see it! A tuned ACE puts out 109, and a 787 puts out 110. It would be worth it in my book to no longer be burning 14 gallons an hour plus synthetic oil!
