Depends on the overall condition of the skis but I would say yes, there is probably some money to made of you rebuild the carbs yourself. Mat removal is a b!tch but new mats make any ski look nice.

    Why turn it?
Do the carbs yourself, to Bill's spec's, swap out impellor, plate & intake add wave eaters and d-plate and ride it.
    I love my XLT!

My experience has been that there is never a simple fix and flip scenario. They all seem to need more than you think when you start digging in to them. My advice is to be careful buying an old ski with the sole intention of flipping it. You can quickly get into a cost thats more than you can sell the ski for. If you plan to keep the ski for yourself then it doesnt matter what you spend on it.

I would see if you can get the price down a little. that way your covered if it needs more than you were expecting.

On the other hand, I also like Toy's suggestion of fixing it up for your self. Either way, see if their willing to negotiate with you.

Remember one thing. When a ski doesn't run so you can test ride it, you re at the mercy of whoever is telling you that "only the carbs need rebuilding". Like BryanP said, you may end up finding out that the ski needs A LOT more than carb service.

I had one ski I bought for a nice price that had a simple problem, but the previous owner couldnt diagnose it. I found the problem in a few hours and fixed it for 40 bucks. I could have flipped that one and made a nice profit, but I wanted the ski for myself. I still have it and its been running great since.
