    toggle switch for MFD

Has anyone installed a toggle switch to there MFD? I was thinking about putting a toggle switch on the gound wire going to the MFD and leaving the switch in the hull. That way I can turn it off, and keep from burning out the LCD's. I would like some input. Will this erease the memory on the hours of the engine?

    Thanks,
    Rodney

It shouldn't erase the hours, you will have to re-set the clock each time BUT no biggie.

It shouldn't be a problem, as it's like attaching the ground to the battery. Now if he attached it to the power side, I'd worry.

I have a toggle for the pink wire (limp mode). It just disables the fuel gauge on the MFD when it goes into limp mode and then no more limp mode. I have it mounted on my dash with a rubber waterproof cover. I'm sure you can do the same for the whole gauge if you like?
