Advice on buying a r12x09
my mate is just about to buy a Honda 2 seater , with low hrs , all the mechanics in Sydney say don't go near them ,?? And no one here will service , can u guys recommend a service guy in Sydney and are there many problems with them ? How rely able are they

if you don't have a service authorized dealer for support I would not buy product.
problems they have are recalled gas tanks, exhaust manifolds tend to crack or rott out from saltwater, main relays crap out on them, and if the turbo is rusty and has not been lubricated along with waste gate it will be a problem and can be costly to replace. They are quite reliable if well looked after, but parts are hard to find and are expensive......hope this helps

538 hours on my R12X. Bought new with 0 hours. GREAT ski. All it has ever needed are oil changes, and Spark plugs.
Still on the original battery. If you are able to work on your own stuff, and can use the internet parts shouldn't be too hard to get.
If you decided to buy, make sure to test ride, and it should sustain 6000-6100rpm depending on air, and water temp.
Make sure the turbo is free of rust.
