    Pump tunnel sealing

Any one know an easy way to seal the pump shoe inside the pump tunnel with out a shoe kit? Can I just run a nice smooth bead of silicon around the groove where the shoe and pump housing meets without taking the grate of?

nope it will blow out. You need to fill the voids, some use epoxy most use the plug kit.

I am currently experimenting with silicone. I filled the voids in the grate completely up just like a pump shoe kit. I have had a small heater blowing at it now for almost 3 weeks!!!! It's getting harder and harder but still not completely dry. Probably 60%. I have at least a month before the weather turns here so we'll see how it works. I also filled above the back of the plate with 3m 4200.

Wow that's pretty good, I would assume that would be even better then a plug kit, considering there would be no air pockets at all...
