Parts List For 4 Inch Custom Air Intake
I've recently put together my own intake setup. Thanks to the members here I found what I believe to be the best quality and pricing. I put together all the compiled information I've absorbed in hopes of helping eliminate hours of searching by newbies and/or people who just want a better quality air intake. Keep in mind presently a custom or RIVA rear intake is the best way to go for maximum performance. My run-down goes as follows:
You'll have to find a filter at your local auto parts store. From there you'll have to go to outerwears.com for a custom pre-filter, unless you don't want one (It's an extra safety measure to prevent water intrusion). For the 4" intake the hose is from http://www.dultmeier.com the part number is KA620WD-4 and it is 3.66 per foot. For those who prefer Morelandhose.com you can go there for about $4 a foot. You can get a very high quality adapter for your supercharger from rxpblast here on the forum for $52 or you could go to ebay.com or siliconeintakes.com for a 4" - 3" 90 degree silicone reducer. Silicone Intakes is out of stock for most of their stuff as of Mid April 2007 but will be re-stocking in about a week.
That's where to find it on ebay for $22 + $10 shipping. When silicone intakes re-stocks you can get it from them for $19.99 + $6.99 shipping.
The installation is quite simple. Remove the stock intake configuration, clamp the adapter down the to supercharger, connect and clamp the hose to the adapter, then run the hose up front to where you would like to mount your filter.
Hope this helps

Nice job!! You might want to look up the part number for the 4" SS filter (from Autozone or elsewhere) in case anyone wants to use that instead of the fabric filter and a 4" SS coupler for the SC end.

I would look for the filter part # but I don't know the part # because I too need one
Right now I have no filter...
If anybody else could help make it easy to locate a filter by noting where to buy directly online or a part # in a common auto store that would be great.

or just don't run a filter. I'll only run a filter next time I run Moab w/ the RXP on the trailer

SS cone air filter is 9735
4" joiner (coupler) is 9709
Both are available at Auto Zone but may have to be ordered by Auto Zone.
Some use this filter, some use outerwears.com for a pre-filter cloth. Both work well. I just like the SS filter.

I already ordered the filter with the cotton. I can just rip it out right? If I can't I think I'll just stick with it anyway. I'll run with no filter and then do a back to back test with the cotton filter to see if it hinders performance..
