Jim's Open Loop Plate And New Personal Best Top Speed................

Nothing scientific here guys, just my findings, I'll give as much info as I can.

My previous best was 83.1 @ 9100, air was 65, water approx 70, rideplate holes were filled w silicone.

Myself and forum member BLACKVR installed the plate and filled the holes in with water weld and sanded smooth.

I tested Sunday on a 40 mile ride repeatedly, the weather was 73-75 degrees and the water was about 68. The the ski ran 85.2, 85.6 multiple times heat soaked and 1/2 tank, and on one Hail Mary pass I stayed in it for a good bit and it hit 86.0 @ 9000, 100 rpm less than the previous best, probably because of the warmer weather.

So so take it for what it's worth, not sure what it would run at 9100 maybe 87?

I would say an honest 2.5 mph from the plate and holes filled would be conservative.

I'm a lucky guy this hull does not porpoise.

Are you saying you changed nothing but the plate and picked up the 3 mph from your 83 pull?

Plate and holes filled properly. But keep in mind my 83 pass was at 100 rpm higher due to cooler weather.

So you went 3 mph faster at 100 rpm less? That's some serious drag off the hull. The reason I ask is because I want to go to this plate but I'm doing everything I can to stay off my limiter and if I can swap this plate in and not have my rpm skyrocket that would be neat.

Very nice gain! Congrats on your new best! These skis have recently proven they are not slow by any means, just takes setting them up properly!

My thoughts exactly. I'm starting to think 90 is possible on the blower with a well thought out ski
