    PU-47151 and PU-47102 Details/Info/Alternates? (4 stroke diagnostics cables)

So I understand the above adapter and cable is needed to connect up to a MSX110/150 Weber powered 4 stroke for diagnosis using Digital Wrench. Anybody have more information about these? Pinouts? Cable diagrams? Alternatives to the (expensive) adapter?

I have both of these cables... got from a supposed dealer selling them on ebay.

The MSX specific adapter (PU-47102) can be built easy enough. It's a 3-wire cable... square 4-pin Weatherpack connector on one end... 4-pin ATX12V connector on the other. I can give you the pin-outs if you want them.

As for the 'Diagnostic Interface Cable' (PU-47151)... that's got some serial to something adapter built-in the box end of the cable. I've not heard of anyone crafting one of these... nor have I heard of any alternatives. It's such a specific cable for a rare watercraft and not used for any other DW hookups. I can't imagine there's been much of any push to replicate or find an alternative for it. These sell for $270-ish new.

    Cheers!

The diagnostic interface cable is most likely serial to CAN Bus (OBDII?). I see that desperado on the forum here was making an OBDII interface that worked with some MSX ECU's (but not all), which scrapped the project. It would be nice if we could contact him for more info in this area. For example, did his hardware work when using Digital Wrench, but not with his stand-alone application?

Have you tried opening the "box" end of the diagnostic interface cable (if that's even possible) to see what circuitry is inside?

    Yep... that's the one HiPeRcO.

I looked at mine and can't see any way to pry it apart to view the innards.

Here are the details for the MSX-specific adapter (PU-47102)

(as looking at the end of the plug (wires out the back-side)

Thanks for the info. Can you please clarify whether your pinouts are looking at the front or rear (wire side) of the connectors?

Sure... that's looking at the end of the plug (wires come out the back-side).

I guess I need my head examined, I just bought the adapter on ebay. Now to build the adapter cable, and find an MSX to match
