Video: Wake Solo Allows For Driverless Wakeboarding Behind PWC

Wakeboarding and skating behind personal watercraft is a load of fun. Besides the ease of getting around on a watercraft, popping up behind a PWC is typically just as easy. Vehicle’s like Sea-Doo’s Wake 155 and 215 almost improve the experience by including a collapsible wake tower on the transom and a gunwale-mounted rack for your board. So how could boarding behind a PWC be any better? How about you get rid of the driver?

    Wait. What?

I just saw this on Gizmag, it really is interesting. I wonder what the water patrol would think ... when they see a riderless ski towing

I give the gentleman an A for innovation, but I foresee an end coming soon... I, for one, firmly believe that one of the principal tenants of operating a ski (and most vehicles) is that you're physically connected to it (ie - sitting, standing, etc. on it...).

Theyve been selling something like this in those skymall magazines for over a decade. It was hooked up with a 2 stroke ski, way too much money and kinda silly.

Yeah, but this is now an attachment that you use on your own ski .... it has real possibilities. I for one have had issues finding someone to drive/tow me in the early morning when the water is glass. Just saying .... Not sure it would get out lawed here pretty quickly.

I wonder about the legality of it with states requiring a driver and spotter. I suppose with no driver you would need no spotter.
