I read through an exhausting detailed build on this site about open loop. My conclusion was buy the $87 30 plate heat exchanger . Look it up. Quite detailed discussion.

The SeaDoo pump uses a 3/4 water line and included in the kit is a 8.7mm main water line restrictor (mounted between pump and hull). But can be drilled larger depending on conditions and motor setup (as RXP244 pointed out).
The rest is pretty straight forward and bulk waterlines are included in the kit. The only thing missing is a Groco strainer. Optional but some feel necessary...YMMV.
As for strainer, Riva has a kit for that as well (its a Groco): p/n RY1014-SDF-UK
Official Groco strainers: (add a "-P" to the part below if used in salt)
WSB750 (what riva sells)

I see that restrictor. So has anyone tapped a second cooling on plastic pumps?
