    Cam Gears Swap on SHO/SVHO

Anyone have experience with swapping cam gears on an SHO/SVHO? Whats the easiest way to swap the cam gears without having to redo the timing?

more than likely wouldn't make a shit of difference, The cam lobes would be the change on these motors, Would be easier to get a set of second hand R&D or Riva gears and chuck in.

Easiest way to put the cam gears in is not to let the chain drop by doing one gear at a time and use a zip tie to hold the chain on the gear.make sure motor is on #1 TCD

theres heaps of threads on how to do, If your spanner savvy then it should only take about 40minutes

Yea trying to throw in some adjustable gears...

Do I need to do anything with the chain tensioner like relieve the tension?

I've worked on other motors with timing chains which require the tensioner relief to do a cam swap to avoid Additional chain tension when the sprocket is taken out.

I spent some time awhile back looking for a good thread / how to on removing cams and gears and I could not find anything that I felt was really a good how to. If you know of one please post up a link. I need to pull my cams and tap / plug the ends before riding season! Thanks

If someone could do it with pics would be pretty sweet. I know Jims done it only 500 or so times. Maybe he has some hints... Or better yet some pictures
