on an 04 engine, am I correct that I just need to remove the oil jet and install an 06+ rocker arm shaft? Nothing else right? 215SC 4tec engine of course.

No, the heads are different. They changed the way the oil flowed into and through the head. You remove the restrictor if you are using the complete later model head on an early block. You can't just change the shaft.

However, since you're running and 04 in salt it's the perfect time to buy ARP studs, a used head(06+) with rocker shaft and have it refreshed then pull out the oil jet. The top end will thank you for it and so will your wallet/nerves down the road

not sure where you got your info, not running in salt, already have arp studs and my 04 head is fitted with supertech valves, springs and retainers. Glad I didn't pull the jet out the block yet though.

There are many people out there with 100's of hours on 04-05 ski's with the oil jet removed running a 06+ rocker shaft on the 04-05 head.

Is there an advantage to running the 06 rocker arm over leaving it stock?

I assumed your head was stock since you listed 0 information. Didn't know California had anything without sharks in it

not trying to offend you but the info you assumed was not pertinent to the question I asked. I gave all the needed info for my question. I'm in northern cali and we ride in the dirty delta which is for the most part fresh water.

Not really. However it's nice to ditch the mechanical plastic oil jet, and you can't buy an oem replacement if you ever needed one.

Most of his posts have nothing to do with the specific topic being discussed..... some people just like to run up their post count it seems
