    Dual trailer for 1200 SUV?

Anyone ever modified a trailer to fit a 1200 SUV and a standard sized ski?

What modifications are you thinking are necessary?

Do you have a specific trailer in mind?

No...not really. I just don't think a standard dual trailer will work with a 1200 SUV

All depends on the total width of both hulls.

I think this was answered not that long ago in another thread. If you cannot find that thread with Search then post here and I will go hunting for it.

    This thread might be helpful.

The Triton Elite double is a 102 inch wide trailer (maximum legal width). Although the SUV is 59.5 inches wide. A 48 inch wide hull next to it would put you at 108 inches or a little more, which is too wide without having an oversize permit.

I would think a modified boat trailer that keeps 2 skis nose to tail would be a better choice. With a big enough trailer, you could have the SUV in front and 2 side by side behind it.

I k ow Boudin did Osides idea as well, cant remember if it hit the max width rule or not but who cares really...i cant even imagine a cop measuring your trailer width. I'll be willing to bet there is a reasonable percentage of officers who dont even remember the max width. Too many different trailer types, widths, weights, lighting requirements etc. Someone would have to have an ax to grind with you to go after a few overage inches. I'll personally be using the ignorance of the law excuse if i ever try it.

Here was mine before I sold off the GPR and trailer... now my SUV is back on a single. As I recall, this was 103" wide. The Texas legal limit is 102".
