    '92 SL650 - Ghetto Paint job (I call it 6ft pretty)

Well, I thought I would throw up some pictures of my "work in progress"

This all started with fixing the hull damage that was present when I bought it. There was a nice deep going on the Port (left?) side and the back right corner was totally knocked off.

I didn't go crazy fixing every single scrap, but I was going for a looks good at 6'

Bondo is never fun, and the glass fiber stuff is really not fun.

I spent weeks sanding until I was happy enough

    Then a final wet sand

Then Cam white. I painted the lower sides, but not the whole bottom.

Boy that's a lot of work for such an old ski. Looks like it's coming along nicely though.
Is that the Sherwin Williams paint rep in the background?

It sure is a lot of work, but I would rather do it to this than some awesome MSX140.

Also.....I hate watching TV so I usually figure out some cheap way to do something.Click image for larger version.

Compared to painting kitchen cabinets, I'm not happy with the amount of orange peel in the paint finish. I plan on more wet sanding with 1k and 1.5k

There's also some serious tape FAILS on my part. Not as easy as a kitchen to mask off. Click image for larger version.

I am planning out putting 2 metallic dark blue Polaris decals on the nose (similar to the original) and 2 metallic Red Polaris decals on the lower half of each side (again like stock).

I really gotta fix some paint screw ups, but over all

I was gonna tally up my paint costs and materials, see how cheap this really was to do if anyone cares
