    SUV-Ho conversion question

when converting a Yamaha SUV 2 stroke over to an h0 4 stroke would it be possible to tap into the oil reservoir from the SUV to make that a spare fuel reservoir? could it be as simple as assigning the reserve line from the main tankand then assign the reserve line to the bottom I'll be oil reservoir? It sure would be nice 2 b able to store gas in that unused oil reservoir.

Or with the right size adapter, would it be possible to feed the oil reservoir (now fuel) line into the return line with a "T" connector and a shutoff valve? The sending unit cap for the oil rez would need to be secured but ? Plausible ?

Read up on how the commercial (Friebe?) auxiliary 'fuel cell' tank is connected into the VENT connection of the main tank.

As the main tank fuel level is drawn down by the engine, there is a mild vacuum that draws fuel from the auxiliary tank into the main tank via the vent line. The main tank vent hose is rerouted and instead connects to the fuel feed connection on the aux tank. The aux tank is then vented to atmosphere using the same method the original fuel tank used.

The effect is that the engine always draws fuel from the main tank. As it uses fuel, additional fuel is transferred automatically from the aux tank until the aux tank is completely empty. From then on the main tank is vented through the aux tank and the engine continues to draw from the main tank.

Be careful with using the oil tank for fuel. Make sure the level sender and everything else is properly sealed so fuel fumes cannot get into the hull interior.

Would you use the FXHO Fuel Tank and mount the oil tank on top? otherwise, you'll have to mod the SUV tank

I would think one issue might be heat. Using the stock oil tank as a resevoir on a running engine the plastic might deform from the hot oil.

Decided the fxho gas tank is going into the ski and thats that. I'll throw an extra tank on there later if the economy is worse than the 2smoke. Cant imagine.
