Should I wax under the hull???

    Hi:
Guys just want to know your opinion on waxing the under part of my hull. Some say it's irrelevant while others don't recommend it. I use Meguiar's Flagship Marine wax. Let me know. Thanks.

smooth hulls have more surface tension

Rough hulls create little pockets of air between the hull and water so you are touching less water

the less water you touch the faster you are

Does it really has that impact on speed??? I want it to look nice and shinny all the way around, but everybody got different point of views on this.

I wax my ski all time! I have no issues. I like to keep it shiny and protected from dirty water. Makes it easier to wash after each ride too.

For the average rec rider I say do what you want. But if you are looking for every last tenth of a MPH, then dont wax the bottom.
