250x driveline in a mini jet boat

Search function has helped lots but not sure I have the answer to this one. I'm running a 250 driveline in a custom mini alum jet boat like the one pictured, was not planning to use the speedo pickup on the hull as chances are it gets torn off. So plugged into the harness tied up inside,

Q is is my map going to work not having a speed input? I'm worried I will have the washer mod problem with motor having too much timing.

Excellent.. Thanks, now all I have to worry about is oig, crack prone heads & pump bearings. I updated the bearings to 300 spec, did the return line bypass on catch can.

They come in about 800-850lbs run 60-65mph, 250 is was overkill was planning 140-160 but found a deal on the 250x.

Change out the connecting rods, odds are high one of the stock rods with break cleanly right in the middle.....it is the cause of virtually all 250x, 260x failures, that have no water ingestation. The rod breaking causes immediate catastrophic engine failure.
300x came with a different part # for the rods, they are a little beefier in cross sectional area of the I beam.
If I were to buy a new 310 Kawasaki, I would immediately use Carrillo rods.
