It won't hurt the Ski to ride it a time or two without the Filter. But you should get a new one in there ASAP. How many hours did you have on this one? JB

How many hrs on the filter??

JESUS CHRiST! ..I have 108 hrs on my ski and just looked at my 4th filter in 4 yrs ,they all looked almost like new but always replaced them out anyway all salt water riding..

Im either doing everything right flushing out the ski after every ride or I ride like a pussy

This is the one of the unknown answers of this ski,as others have had bad luck with the exhaust filter..

Maybe Dr. Njack can give us a lecture..

There is no way running with out filter will hurt anything, it's just a catalytic core, guys cut them out of bike cars etc never causes an issue.

It keeps water from the waterbox from getting into the head. Running the ski without the exh. Filter a time or 2 won't hurt, but leaving it out offers no gains and could potentially harm the ski.

How would the cutting the core out putting the empty spacer back in ie top photo allow water to enter?

This was an improvement made due to excessive moist vapor entering the combust area and rusting up the valves and plugs. If you know anything about Ultra's then you know about this. So it works as a vapor barrier. It neither enhances nor reduces performance. It only aids in making your engine and your plugs live longer.
I agree a ride or 2 won't kill it but get a new one and put it in.
As Waz says just put the plate with out the filter in and you have what the other guy wants to sell you.

    LMAO jetdave56... Wait for it...
