It did for me.. Picked up a brand new oem one on eBay a while ago for $50.. It worked well for me, although I had no rust or corrosion anywhere on the shaft/hat/c-clip

I tried that contraption on my 2010 T-X and it sucked terribly. One hand to hold the tool in place and the other to reach down and remove the c-clip was impossible for me.

I use the combination of these two tools and it is MUCH easier IMO. Install the PTO Support tool and simply install the floating ring tool and turn the bolt with an allen socket. Then you can let go of the tools and use both hands to remove the c-clip. C-Clip re-installation is just as easy.

I have those Jpt is talking about, but I just use this tool like in the link. I don't have a problem holding it with one hand and removing/installing the clip with the other.

The trick to installing a clip with the Lever tool is to use a pair of needle nose vice-grips to hold the c-clip then u can just press down and it locks on the shaft, then just simply unlock the vicegrips makes things alot easier if your doing the job your self with that tool. If your have a hard to moving the floating ring you may need to soak it and add some heat prior to attempting removal.

If the ski has seen plenty of salt water its not uncommon to have to cut the ring off and replace.

I used Gaddis`s advice and just "manned up". Grunt and pull back by hand. I wouldn`t eat beans the night before though.
