    AUX fuel tank for FZ

We are planning on some longer rides this year and fuel will be an issue. I saw that TBM had one back in the day and I am looking to add about 5-6 gallons of additional fuel inside the hull that feeds to the main system. Has anyone successfully built a tank that fits in the FZ or does anyone have the TBM tank that could give me some specs on fabbing one up? The top plate should be no problem. I've checked out Friebe's cell but don't want to spend $500

I have a friebe unit, its fairly basic in design but since it is all aluminum it would still cost a pretty penny to have fabled up and welded.

Just use cardboard as a template
I did that before TBM made one
And funnily enough it was almost exactly the same shape as the TBM one I bought when they first came out
Mine only cost $325 us due to pre order discounts

Here is a link of my ski with a aux fuel tank. It is a '10 FX and has about the same deck as the current FZ. Mouse over the pictures and there is a bill of materials at the end. Two FZs in our group have done basically the same thing (they are a about 3 years old) with no problems. Just something to consider. Some people are using the natural vacuum of the main tank to siphon from the aux. I use a pump for a variety of reasons but both have been used successfully. Don't skimp. These tanks take a lot of abuse with expansion and contraction and sloshing violently in the waves. On my wifes ski which is a RXP-X we have to use a fuel bladder because the deck is too small for a rigid tank and the mounting points are difficult. Both of these have made long wide open ocean trips many times with no issues.

Sorry...I missed that. Read too fast. My wife's fuel bladder fits on the back or in the forward compartment. It is expensive though. If you are interested here is the link.

I guess what I was asking is if someone in your group is running one on a 310

There had been a few for sale in Aus over the years
But I think they were more popular here from the start
Also most people are running a larger external tank on the rear step now
Using the same feed methods as the freebie and TBM
