Will SCOM hurt the motor?
I am interested in buying a R&D SCOM for my 310X, however how safe are they for the motor? I realize the motor is speed limited because of coast guard regulations and not because the motor is maxed out. But will the SCOM disable the RPM limiter on the motor and allow it to go into an unsafe zone? Or will there still be a hard RPM limiter present that will stop me from taking it into the red zone? Thanks

The ecu still has a rev limiter in place if you use a scom. The engine can only pull so much with a stock prop and horsepower.
