Might have found a good deal...
Found a pair of 02 Virage I's and a double place galvanized trailer for sale. Seller is asking $1k and has already stated he will take less. They look a little rough around the edges, but I think I can bring em back. He says one runs, and the other is missing some parts that were used to fix the other one. One has a new seat cover. The double trailer looks like someone spray painted it black.
God only knows what's missing from the one, so I asked the guy to send me some more pics. I've already offered $500 based on his description, and he didn't say no, so we will see where I land it. Hopefully I will be able to get them this weekend. So long as they pass a compression test, and the trailer is road worthy I think i'll work something out.

I assume you decided to pass on the Genesis/MSX150 combo then?

Good luck getting the black paint bomb off that trailer. I picked one up that someone sprayed and it continuously flakes everywhere. Im going to powerwash it this spring, hopefully to get it back to looking galvanized.

Yes I think I'd like to stay with a MSX140 when I find one. The Weber is too much hassle, and I already have multiple spares for the FICHT stuff.
No problem on the trailer so long as it's solid. Someone painted my boat trailer white (over galv.) and I sanded/ground it down and applied an ebay bought spray on bedliner to it prior to rebuilding it. Had the boat in a boatel for a few weeks while I did this.

Looks awesome! Did you have to etch the galvanized or anything before doing this?

No, well not with a chemical. I did sand and grind a lot of the frame to bare metal as I wanted to remove most of the flaking paint.
I actually really enjoy rebuilding trailers. Luckily I have a trailer supply store about a mile from my job so on lunch breaks I'll swing by and grab what I need.
That trailer was interesting as the axle is a flipped drop axle that required custom spring mounts. Not many places even sell a 3500lb drop axle in the width I needed :/
The trailer will probably outlast the boat. Now I just need to finish putting the boat together.

I'll also say that spraying bedliner was the single most messiest thing I have EVER done. It even tops cleaning the bilge when I was in the Navy.
