    Seat Cover advice - 07 GP1300R

I have a 07 GP1300R and want to replace the OEM seat cover.
I have the black and gold oem colors on the ski.

I was thinking to go with the Hydro-Turf seat cover as the price seemed reasonable at $130.
The hydro-turf site shows a choice of four panels on the seat to select material and color (see link).

    http://hydroturf.com/add_to_cart.php...PWC&num=SEW792

I was thinking to go with "Carbon Fiber" material.
    Color "Black" on panels A & D.
    Color "Yellow" on panels B & C.

Have any of you done color matching seat covers like this? Any pictures?
How hard is it to install it yourself?
I have a hand squeeze stapeler, will that work?
Where do I get the SS stapels?
Is there a DIY sticky on this site?

    Thanks in advance, Ceril

I would go all black, with A & B being gripper, and C & D being either vinyl, or carbon fiber. IMO, the yellow would not be a good match.
I have never done one myself. I have a shop do mine, but they use air staplers.

I'd go all black JetTrim with gold stitching. Here is my FZR seat, all black with blue stitching. PM Jerry and he will set you up.

Hello the price from Hydro Turf is very reasonable ... normally not that low. I used Black Tip on my 08 GP1300, I used the 4 color option it turned out outstanding. It was $125.00 I did black carbon-fiber non-skid on main seat portion. I used white on the side saddles and red accent trim & finally dark blue on rear seat area. I think your Idea of using yellow or gold as an accent color will be sharp. Black & Gold is cool and it's OK to spice up your life a little Ha Ha

I think a black HydroTurf with yellow stitching would look nice.

Looking at Hydroturfs site, I see where the yellow looks gold. You may want to ask for a sample first. Whats on the site and what it looks like in person might be 2 different things.
The yellow stiching on the other hand, will probably look goldish, surrounded by all the black.

I am not familiar with Black-Tip, how does it compare to Hydroturf, quality, longevity, installation, value?

Tried Blacktip covers on two different skis one being my GPR and it was only $100 but was never happy with the fitment. If I had to do it again I would get a jet trim.An upholsterer would probably charge $50 to install the cover for you if you dont have the tools.

Black tip is so-so. Hydroturf is also so-so.

My wife is very happy with the blacktip cover on her WaveVenture. Fits great, reasonable price, very good quality. Fit is everything, so pay the money and get it professionally installed.
