    Spring is close!

It reached 80 degrees here in Bennettsville, SC. Warm enough that I couldn't resist snatching the cover off my ski and going for a quick spin! Water is still freezing cold though. Thought I'd report that!

17' now with an ice cutting ship busting 18 inches plus of ice through Lake Erie off Pennsylvania. It may be a while before we even see water again and it will be cold.

Will be mid to upper 80's next week at CO River (Blythe, CA) but its a 3 hour drive one way and not much water this time of year.
The ongoing drought in the West is getting serious. The Sierra Snow pack is way down this winter and farmers are being paid by the state to not plant their fields.
Gona be an interesting summer to see what the CO river flows will be.

I might have an issue when it hits 50* the next few days. I've had 8 hours above 32* in the last 40 days.

    WINTER SUCKS

Well I'm on the spring is coming band wagon. It's been very cold here in Northern NJ up until about a week ago. Just got back from snowmobiling Old Forge NY. The trails away from town were still OK but all the trails near town were bombed out yesterday. That was probably our last trip up this year unless another storm and some cold weather moves in. I went from getting frost nip UNDER my helmet from an open vent a month ago to riding without gloves on in a spring jacket yesterday! There was about 10 inches of standing slush on top of the lakes and was one of the few times the machines were faster on the trails than across the lakes! If the weather keeps up, riding pwc with a wetsuit in April will be a reality!
