1st time running in saltwater
Itís spring break! Iím going to Rockport, TX on Tuesday, gonna do some fishing and site seeing from the new FX SHO. Any advice about running in saltwater? I already know I need to wash it down inside and out after every use. Question about that though. Iím going to be down there for four days and using it each day. Does that mean I have to wash it down at the end of each day when I pull it out of the water? Or can I just give it a good wash at the end of the fourth day? Seems like a stupid question but I honestly donít know. Also, I know about fluid film to, I havenít been able to find any yet but I do have the WD-40 brand silicone spray. Its silicone and not the normal WD formula. Anyhow, I already coated everything under the seat with the stuff.

If you can wash it down after each day I would and WD-40 should be fine if you can't get FF. But long term use WD-40 is not advised.

You should flush the engine cooling system after every ride in saltwater. I would wash it every day because the longer the water spots remain on the finish the harder they are to remove. I only spray the engine compartment before an extended lay up period and use BRP's XPS lubricant because it doesn't leave a smelly thick film like Fluid Film does.

Fabricated a rod holder for my ski. Pretty cool and easy to put on and take off, I used hose clamps to hold it to the ski. Wrapped the grab handle with a narrow sheet of plastic and then electrical tape over that to protect the grab handle from scratching. took all of 20 minutes to put together and all from stuff laying around the house. Now I can tour the shoreline and stop anywhere and throw in a line. Trout and red drum look out!
