What do you think caused this?

Look at the impeller blades on my B-Kit SC. I pulled the SC just to get it out of my way while I was working on the drive shaft there was not a problem in the way it was running the last time out. Engine performs fine and compression is still 135 on all three cylinders. Also are those replacable inserts on the cylinder head that the valve cover bolts thread into? I don't like to use helicoils if I don't have to.

something look like it hit the impeller, did you suck something into the intake?
also looking at the head are you saying that the holes are stripped?...PR...

yea something defintiely passed thru the air intake and hit the SC blades... while i don't think it's going to change performance at all, my only personal concern woulld be the balance of the impeller now being whacked out and down the road causing a SC bearing failure... but is that really enough to tremendously throw the balance off? i dont know...

Thats why I never liked the idea of running an open intake with no filter or at least an outerwear somewhere...

Why wouldn't you want to use the helicoil??? It should make it stronger????

That is another head not the one on my ski someone stripped out one and it looks like they are inserts that can be replaced. I am sure someone else has run into this problem.

What type intake hose are you running? I'm with steve, don't like the idea of an intake without any "obstructions". They look like inserts, probably have to be drilled out so new ones can be pressed in.

I am running a open rear intake and have for a long time. I did try running with the outerwears but it hurt performance.

What does sucking up a bolt do to performance? Wonder what you sucked in there and where did it get to? Have you pulled the head of yet? Might have some cylinder damage.

If nothing else put a piece of mesh over the end of the intake.
