Thread: Weird Mikuni?

    Weird Mikuni?

I was rebuilding my spare 95 750 mikuni carbs and noticed that the lever that hits the diaphragm was at a different hight on every carb? so I traced it to the needle! see pic I never saw this before! and I usually do one carb at a time so I wouldn't have noticed accept I marked and bagged these and did them all at once! any ideas?/ Z

I can't find a reason for this? part numbers seem to call out the same part but that doesn't look right! Z

The middle one looks correct. The other two looks as if they are comming apart.

My guess is with Rods. They're coming apart... and boy, wouldn't that be a tuning nightmare had you not caught it!!!!

    carbs

The internals are seperating Throw them far away. Order some new 2.0's. Start fresh. I never use old needle and seats when going through carbs. They may check ok with a pop off gauge, but if you put any type of vibration on them, they will bleed off and then you will be chasing a rich, lean condition-because they never seat If a needle does not actually pop!! off under pressure, it will not work correctly. (hense the term pop off pressure, not bleed pff pressure ) I say rich-lean because it will act rich, so you turn the low speeds down at an idle so it wont load up, but then it's lean if you try to drop the hammer, let off the throttle then stop for a sec., and drop the hammer again

It took me a while of staring at them to catch it. I knew that something did not look right, but I wasn't sure what it was.
