What to sell a 2000 Pro 1200 for?

4 years ago I bought a 2000 Pro 1200 with ~70 hrs on it. We now have about 96 hrs on it. It sits on a double trailer that could probably use some work. Last year I put three new tires on the trailer and a new gel battery in the boat. 2 years ago we had a shop replace the drive shaft to the tune of $1,200.... All that said, I sold my truck and have nothing to tow the boat with so am thinking of selling it.

Thoughts on on what price I should consider? My neighbor just offered me $1,200 but I was hoping to get more out of it. Thanks in advance!

What!?! Was that driveshaft gold plated? $1200 seems extremely high to replace that.

$1200 for a running '00 Pro 1200 on a rough 2 place trailer is an insult... IMHO.

I'd be thinking around $2500 as a good deal on the package. (assuming clear titles).

    Whereabouts you located?

    Cheers!

I thought driveshaft replacement was high, but only one shop near me that will touch Polaris!

I was hoping to get $2,500 but figure not having to deal with craigslist might make it worth dropping the price a bit, just not down to $1,200!

    I am in Dallas, TX.

    Thanks for the input guys!

Your neighbor probably doesn't realize what a "Pro" is, and is basing it off other similar hull Polaris values.

BTW - a driveshaft is under $200, and a 20 minute job with very basic hand tools

Unless the driveshaft damage is a result of a damaged/stripped coupler... or seized through-hull carrier. Those can add to the price and time to repair.

    Cheers!

Replaced driveshaft, coupler was stripped so it was replaced along with thru hull barrings along with a basic tune up. I am positive I overpaid, but after swimming a stranded ski to shore I wasn't really interested in testing my handyman skills!

When my SLT stripped it's original solid coupler, I could tell the riders were stuck (I was having a picnic with the family watching them). The only water craft available for a rescue was my in-law's paddle boat. Man were my legs tired paddling everyone and towing the ski back to the dock!

    Cheers!
