RXT 260 Power surge on high end

2012 RXT 260 surges on high end. I can only get up to 7000 rpms and that is the max. What kind of RPM's should I see out of this ski? Plugs changed, Fuel pressure regulator putting about 59 psi out.

I figured it should be at least 8000. Checked the SC and the clutch is slipping at 46 in lbs. Only 31 hours on the ski..????

Have you looked at your intercooler to make sure it's not leaking? Take the charge pipe off the throttle body with the ski running and make sure there is not an abundance of water coming out.

Did you ever figure out your surging? Mine doing same thing. It sorta jumps between 6500 and seven. Sometimes it hooks. Hard to tell in rough water. But getting occasional check engine light.

I just got done dealing with same issue of 6500 to 7000 what it was was the fuel filter that is built in to fuel pump assembly was horribly clogged and filled with gunk only because previous owner let sit and fuel filters rotted ou so everything was getting ingested by pump and stopping at fuel filter some got through and also clogged one injector

Got injectors sonic cleaned twice and after cleaning the regulator and every thing on fuel assembly and then finding out that it has another fuel filter that is glued in I bought a new fuel assembly 365 dollars (fucking rip off put a damn removable one in fuckers) it gets to 8040 rpm like new
I also add an after market riva pressure regulator just so I can know pressure is always good and steady will be testing today will post results
